I am a software engineer with over 20+ years of experience covering the whole range of software development and implementation. Tasks include sofaware applications, real-time embedded software as well as software driven test systems for military communication products. Click on "RESUME" for details.

Each job has brought the challenges of working with new software languages, operating systems, hardware and tools and learning how to cope with them quickly. The work has also ingrained good software practices including requirements analysis, object oriented design and coding, documentation and version control (and of course backing up current work!). The jobs have required multi-discipline teamwork and looking at problems from the point of view of not just software but hardware engineering, systems, testing, production, management and most important customers.

Ultimately the products being developed were for use by people in potentially life threatening circumstances, who where depending on them to work properly. It brought home that "Getting the bugs out" was of extreme importance.

This website is a work in progress. I have been learning web development from the ground up, rather than through tools such as Dreamweaver. It is a slower approach but I like understand the details about how things work.
